The common threads between the members of the Chancel Choir are the love of music and the desire to serve Christ through dedication of time and musical talents. The goal of the choir is to provide quality music that represents our firm faith in Jesus and to minister to each other in a small group setting.
Membership in the Cancel Choir is open to all individuals who wish to participate. The ability to read music is not a requirement, but is very helpful.
The choir performs a variety of musical styles---from traditional to contemporary. Members are also encouraged to perform solo/small group songs in worship services, as they feel moved.
The choir meets for practice every Tuesday evening from 6:30-7:30pm in the sanctuary. They provide the anthem for the 8:30 traditional service and/or 11:00 praise worship service when ready to perform.
In addition to singing for the weekly worship services, the choir performs themed Christmas Cantatas. These large works are generally performed during Sunday worship.
This ministry was formed in 2011 by a group of youth and young adults in the church that wanted to praise God through the use of uplifting contemporary Christian music using guitars, drums, digital piano, and of course—singers!
The praise Team leads worship in the sanctuary during our 11am contemporary service. The repertoire of music performed in this group ranges from Christian rock songs that are brand new to old hymn favorites with a contemporary feel to them.
We practice on Sunday mornings from 10-11am in the sanctuary before the 11am praise service as well as when extra practice is needed. Come and join us as we sing the praises of Christ to all!
